Welcome to MobyScooter.com.
I’m Romeo Urqueza, the person behind this site. I created MobyScooter.com to help seniors, caregivers, adults with mobility challenges, and families make more confident decisions about mobility scooters. This site comes from both professional experience and personal experience.
Over the years, I worked in roles connected to medical aids and saw how much the right mobility support can change daily life. I also watched my own mother gradually lose her independence, which gave this work a much deeper meaning for me.
MobyScooter.com is for people trying to make practical, often emotional decisions about mobility.
You may be looking for a scooter for yourself because getting around has become harder than it used to be.
You may be helping a parent or loved one stay independent and safe.
You may be living with a disability or chronic condition and trying to find an option that fits your body, energy levels, and daily routine.
Or you may simply be comparing choices and looking for clear guidance before making an important purchase.
If that’s you, this site is here to help you sort through the options with more clarity and less overwhelm.

(Taking my mother for a 'walk' by the bay in January 2024 in my visit to the Philippines. She decided to spend the rest of her life there.)
This site began with something personal. My mother started losing her eyesight, and with that came a gradual loss of independence.
Watching that happen was difficult. She had always been strong and self-reliant, so seeing her world become smaller was painful. Ordinary things many people take for granted became harder, more frustrating, and more emotionally heavy.
Around the same time in my working life, I was involved in supplying medical aids, including mobility products, to seniors and people with disabilities. I wasn’t just reading about these needs from a distance. I was hearing concerns from real people, seeing what families struggled with, and witnessing how the right equipment could help someone move through life with more confidence and dignity.
That combination stayed with me: the personal experience of seeing mobility loss up close in my own family, and the professional experience of helping provide tools that could restore a measure of freedom.
I started MobyScooter.com as a way to turn that experience into something useful.
My goal with this site is simple: to make mobility scooter information easier to understand and more grounded in real-life needs.
I write for people who want practical guidance, not jargon. That includes help with understanding different types of scooters, comparing features, thinking through comfort and portability, and considering what might suit different lifestyles or mobility limitations.
I also understand that this is rarely just a product decision. For many people, it’s tied to independence, confidence, safety, and quality of life. That’s why I try to approach this topic with both usefulness and empathy.
Before this chapter, I spent about 20 years working in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Later, I worked with a family-run business that supplied medical aids to seniors and people with disabilities, including mobility scooters. That experience gave me direct exposure to the questions people ask, the concerns they carry, and the practical factors that matter when choosing mobility equipment.
MobyScooter.com grew out of that background, along with my long-standing interest in building websites and creating helpful resources online. After retiring, I decided to use that time to build something purposeful: a site that could genuinely help people navigate mobility scooter choices with more confidence
I want this site to be useful, clear, and trustworthy.
If you’re exploring mobility options for yourself or someone you care about, I hope MobyScooter.com helps you feel better informed and less alone in the process. If you arrived here through one of my articles, this About page should make clear who is behind the content and why this topic matters to me.
This isn’t just a website project. It’s a continuation of work that became personal.
